SPRING
A Time To Reconnect To Our Intentions To What Matters Most In Our Lives
I think most of us can say we have spring fever especially after these first few glorious days of spring in Cape Town.
This is my most favourite time of the year In Cape Town – a time that I reconnect to what is most important to me.
I love the explosion of new growth in spring – it feels as if all my senses are awakened.
All around the Integral Health Studio I bear witness to the miracle of new beginnings.
I see the bare winter trees come alive with new bright green leaves and colourful flowers blooming in my little garden. I smell the sweet fragrance of Jasmine and hear the cacophony of sounds much like an orchestra tuning up before a performance with the intermittent croaking of the mating leopard toads and the Egyptian geese fighting with the Yellow-billed ducks for ownership of the pond near the studio.
As the sun stays out longer I notice how Cape Townians gradually emerge from the hibernation of winter with renewed energy and motivation. People instinctively seem to have the urge to do some spring-cleaning – cleaning out the old and making way for the new. Spring is a time of renewal, of new beginnings and fresh starts.
This is a perfect time for you to reconnect to what matters most in your life – to your intentions and values.
We get so caught up in keeping our heads above the water and just coping with the demands of every day life that we often neglect the areas that are really important to us. Many of us lose sight of the imbalances in our lives in our attempts to keep up with our fast-paced lives of non-stop doing.
OUR GIFT TO YOU
As a spring gift I would like to share a simple exercise that helps you to reconnect to what you love, to what is important to you in your life, and to your deepest heart-felt intentions.
THE INTEGRAL HEALTH WHEEL OF LIFE
The Integral Health wheel of life is a way of identifying your values and intentions. There are a few spaces open for you to add to. You are invited to reflect on each aspect and then rate your current level of satisfaction. This exercise helps you to determine which areas are currently out of balance and need some attention.
Taking the centre of the wheel as 0 (unsatisfied) and the outer rim as 10 (very satisfied). Rank your level of satisfaction within each section by drawing a dot on the relevant number. Then join the dots by drawing a line across the segment at the number best describing your current level of satisfaction. The new perimeter represents how balanced your current life is.
If this were a real wheel, how bumpy would the ride be? To improve your sense of well-being and quality of life and have a smoother ride you may consider addressing the areas that are calling for your attention.
CAN SUPPORT YOU IN TAKING COMPASSIONATE ACTION TOWARDS INCREASED WELL-BEING AND IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE
My wish for you is that you start the new season with a renewed sense of connection to your values and intentions and a clearer sense of what is available through Integral Health – supporting you leading a life filled with a greater sense of peace and well-being.
